Abolitionist, Feminist, Theorist, Artist, Photographer. Carlie advocates for the rejection of materialist consumption in artistic expression. This represents itself as utilizing the tools and resources around them, rather than contributing to the increasing electronic waste of late-stage capitalism.
Carlie shoots with their Canon Rebel T3i, the first and only DSLR camera they saved up for and bought in high school. This camera has traveled through the Amazon rainforest and captured intimate moments with life, death, and the liminal spaces between the two.
Inspiration is drawn from the stillness of pensive animals and birds, and the personification of non-human forms. Carlie finds their photography a meditative practice of presence, a chance of luck, and the dichotomy of impermanence through material documentation.
